Peugeot updates the best-selling car in Europe. Introducing the New Peugeot 208. Available to order from October 2023 from Charters Peugeot of Aldershot, this new car is more than just a pretty face. Expect new and refined features, a new design, a plethora of safety features, a longer range electric version as well as a hybrid variant.

New Logo & New Design

Soon after the 208 was released, Peugeot updated their logo and now this new model brings it front and centre into the grille. Surrounding the new emblem is the bold, new grille and light signature. This (along with the New 2008 SUV), showcases the lion which has been emblematic of the French brand since it’s inception in the mid 1800s. The three vertical claws have been positioned further towards the edge of the vehicle which gives it a much broader look.

The changes don’t stop at the front however, as the new rear light signature continues the three claws look and brings it bang up to date with regards to function and design.

New Interior Designs & Features

A collection of additions, refinements and features are showcased in the New 208. From more powerful wireless smartphone charging, new interior fabrics, more USB sockets, a refined i-Cockpit and more. Every model now comes fitted with a 10-inch touchscreen for your key vehicle controls and infotainment. For those of us who use their Peugeot every day, you’ll notice how responsive and fast the the screen is to use.

New Peugeot 208 will come in seven colours:

New Powertrain Options

You can option the New Peugeot 208 in three different variants: Petrol, Electric and now (for 2023) Hybrid.

The petrol variant remains as Peugeot’s most efficient engine on the market with the PureTech 75 (matched with a 5-speed transmission) or the PureTech 100 (matched with a 6-speed transmission).

The New e-208 (the electric variant) has an improved electric range thanks to a 51kWh battery and 115kW electric motor. This brings the expected range of up to 248 miles between charge (WLTP testing underway). As standard, a 7.4kW single-phase charger is supplied with all e-208 models but a 11.kW charger is an optional extra. Charge time is kept at an all-time-low with 20-80% charge available in less than 25 minutes (using a 100kW rapid charger). Use a standard 7.4kW charger and you can expect to be recharged after 4 hours and 40 minutes.

The new hybrid system brings all the efficiency and practicality of our petrol engines and matches it with a clever unit that can provide all-electric mode (during urban driving) for up to 50% of the time. The hybrid system can be matched with either a 100bhp or 136bhp PureTech engine and gives increased fuel economy (up to 15% lower fuel consumption) and torque. It really is the best of both worlds.

New High Definition Cameras

As part of its commitment to providing vehicles with the latest technology, Peugeot have revealed that the New Peugeot 208 can be fitted with a new high-definition camera system (dependant on model). You’ll also have the ability to option it with a 360-degree camera for the first time. This small car continues to be full of surprises.
