Peugeot wins Dakar again with 3008 DKR scoring a hat trick: 1,2,3 finish.
They took CarBuyer’s Car of the Year and gave it muscles, three iconic drivers: Stephane Peterhansel, Sebastien Loeb and Cyril Despres and threw more sand and dust at it than you could ever imagine and 3008 DKR showed that it was not just a pretty face.
A team of 88 members supported the efforts of the drivers and with 9 out of 10 stage wins, 4,093 km driven and the fastest car travelling for 28 hours and 49 minutes, the Dakar is not a race many of us could cope with. A professional driver is pushed through their paces and thanks to the inclusion of air conditioning, they didn’t have to suffer in-cabin temperatures of up to sixty degrees centigrade.
Peugeot has had a fantastic few years at Dakar with the 2008 DKR winning the 2016 event and this year’s 3008 DKR bringing home the triple.
We can’t wait to see what lies in store for the Dakar Rally team for 2018.
