How can you improve upon a European Car of the Year? Introducing the new Peugeot 308 and 308 SW. Due for release in September and boasting new, distinctive design elements, increased connectivity in i-Cockpit and some exciting new powertrains, the new Peugeot 308 range will come in hatchback, estate and GTi By Peugeot Sport variants from September.
Whichever trim level you choose, the new Peugeot 308 range will feature a huge feature list, making this already desirable car an even more compelling choice. A sleek new bonnet is laid over the vertical grille and distinctive new elliptical headlights with integrated daytime running lights (featuring LED technology). New Peugeot 308 will be extremely agile thanks to its clever design and short wheel overhangs. Choose the Allure, GT Line and GT and you can expect a cielo glass panoramic glass roof as standard bringing even more light into an extremely comfortable cockpit.
The i-Cockpit which was first introduced in the Peugeot 308 range makes a return to this new model with a refined capacitive touchscreen for all of the main features and functions in one easy location. This offers a clutter-free dashboard which ensures your eyes are firmly fixed on the road ahead. Connectivity options have been increased with the introduction of Apple CarPlay, Mirrorlink and Android Auto – ensuring that no matter what smartphone you own, you’ll be fully integrated easily. You can use your favourite smartphone maps app or select the clever 3D satellite navigation system with voice control for an easy journey. This even uses TomTom realtime traffice monitoring service so you can optimise your journey times.
Peugeot have updated the Active Safety Brake and Active Lane Departure warning systems along with the adaptive cruise control and if you opt for an automatic transmission, the system can stop when required when in cruise.
Visiopark 180 is installed on the new Peugeot 308 and 308 SW (dependant on trim level) and with its park assist function, those parallel parking problems are a distant memory.
Engine choices on the new Peugeot 308 and SW have been altered with a choice of highly efficient petrol and diesel options. New Peugeot 308 and 308 SW are the first in the brand to receive the option of a BlueHDi 130 S&S. This is a four cylinder diesel unit that uses clever technology to monitor exhaust emissions. This provides and even more environmentally friendly car with no consequences to power. At the top end (on the GT trim level), you can opt for a BlueHDi 180 S&S which brings an 8-speed automatic transmission unit (EAT8) to the mix. This offers a responsive and comfortable drive to an already excellent package.
So how do you improve on an award-winning car? Never stop innovating and pushing the boundaries. New Peugeot 308 and 308 SW will provide customers with a refined, elegant, comfortable, economical and responsive drive at a price that you might not expect.
