Eagle Radio’s Local Heroes Awards a split into eleven awards with businesses across the Surrey and Hampshire counties offering support for each of them. On 27th September, the ceremony was held at G Live with Mel C, the Military Wives Choir and Fuzz Universe performing. This year, Charters were proud to sponsor the Military, Nursing and Emergency Services Award.
The Eagle Radio’s Local Heroes 2016 award was handed to Rowan Roberts for his work in the “Safe Drive Stay Alive” education-based theatre company. This unique service provides young people with safety awareness and positively influences local attitudes towards driving. Essentially, it’s a stage show with a hard-hitting emotional message about the dangers of vehicles and roadworthiness.
Rowan’s tireless work has helped saved so many young lives on our local roads and his helpful and kind personality means that of the 100,000 people he has encountered through this programme, they’re sure to remember to such a kind soul.
Rowan Roberts (along with his daily duties as a Fire Fighter) has been the face of this campaign for over 180 events and has been a pillar of the Surrey and Hampshire community.
