Charters of Aldershot to lead Commemorative Convoy at National Armed Forces Day 2026
Charters of Aldershot are proud to support the Commemorative Convoys as a sponsor of National Armed Forces Day 2026, which will take place in Aldershot on Saturday 27 June. Participating vehicles will assemble on a site in Queens Avenue in preparation for a drive through the town which will begin the days official ceremonies and proceedings.
The convoy, comprising of 60 plus vehicles, will then depart Aldershot on a route through Fleet to Hartley Wintney, then to Hook and Odiham to Alton where a welcome event is planned. The exact route is shown below:

The organisers of this years Commemorative Convoy are privileged to welcome the Royal Hampshire Regimental Standard.
Bob Graham from Alton, Hampshire is the Standard-Bearer who will travel in one of the convoys military vehicles.
‘It’s an honour to be part of this event, which is in association with Aldershot, this year’s hosts of the National Armed Forces Day,’ said Mr Graham.

The Hampshire’s formed in 1881, saw service in many theatres of war, with distinction during WW1 and WW2.
In late 1992 as part of the government’s Options for Change, the regiment was amalgamated with the Queens Regiment to become The Princes of Wales’s Royal Regiment.
‘There are many veterans who are proud to keep the spirit and memory of the former county regiment alive and in the public domain. We are very happy to do our bit to help’ said a spokesperson for the convoy.
The convoy comprises classic military vehicles and motorcycle riders, many of them Veterans, from the Royal British Legion Riders Branch.
National Armed Forces Day 2026 will bring together serving personnel, veterans, cadets, military families and the wider community for a day of recognition and celebration. This free event (advance tickets are available here) provides a plethora of activities over the weekend (27th-28th June 2026) and the Commemorative Convoys is an incredible way to see vehicles from our yesteryear driving through the Hampshire roads.
Saturday 27th June
Two military parachute display teams will fill the skies with colourful canopies as they wow everyone with a gravity-defying demonstration of skill and courage. There’s much more, including:
- British Army Apache helicopter and a Chinook from the Royal Air Force
- Challenger II tank and Boxer armoured vehicle
- Meet serving military personnel and veterans
- Take a tour of the Royal Navy’s offshore raiding craft and see the Royal Navy divers in action in a special tank
- Sporting events including military football teams
- Area for cadets, including paintball range, inflatable assault course and climbing tower
- Music and entertainment
- Fun Fair
- Cultural, heritage and community activities
Sunday 28th June
Sunday’s event is a more relaxed and community-focused day:
- Static military displays
- Drumhead service – a special religious service traditionally held in the field
- Entertainment, stalls, food, and a funfair
- Sports taster sessions as part of Active in Rushmoor, including:
- Yoga
- Choirs/performances
- Stalls
- Sports trials
- Hoopla
- Balance bikes
- Heritage talks
- Sporting competitions
- Community activities
For Charters of Aldershot, supporting the Commemorative Convoys is a meaningful way to stand alongside the Armed Forces community and help mark an occasion of real local and national significance. Aldershot’s long military heritage makes this year’s event especially important for the town and for the many people who live and work in the area.
