As with all modern Peugeots, New 408 comes with a focus on choice. Drivers can choose from a hybrid, plug-in hybrid or all-electric. All hybrid configurations come with the clever (and extremely efficient) EAT8 automatic transmission. The current configurations are below. The all-electric variant is also available and extremely efficient.

Range and efficiency

The hybrid 145hp variant never needs charging (it is charged dynamically by the onboard Petrol engine). You can drive it like a normal petrol car but gain excellent mpg (up to 56mpg combined WLTP). It is rated to drive more than 50% of the time driving electric only in town.

The plug-in hybrid 240hp is recharged via your home-charger (or public charging station) and manages up to 107mpg WLTP on a combined cycle with up to 53 miles in full electric driving in town.

The all-electric New 408 manages up to 281 miles WLTP and can be charged from 20% – 80% in just 31 minutes (using a public 160kW charger).
