As with all modern Peugeots, New 408 comes with a focus on choice. Drivers can choose from a PureTech petrol engine or one of two plug-in hybrid variants (coupled with a plug-in hybrid system. All configurations come with the clever (and extremely efficient) EAT8 automatic transmission. The current configurations are below. An all-electric variant is expected in the near future.

Range and Charging

Charging for the plug-in hybrid variant of the New 408 is extremely fast. Using the optional 7.4Kwh on-board charger, you can go from empty to full in just 1 hour and 40 minutes (using the 7.4Kwh Wall Box).

Opt for the 3.7Kwh on-board charger and you can charge from empty to full in just 3 hours and 25 minutes (using the 7.4Kwh Wall Box).

A standard 3-pin socket will be able to charge the New 408 hybrid in 7 hours and 5 minutes. Ideal if you want the most efficient way of charging your vehicle overnight at home.

Hybrid Driving

Opting for the plug-in hybrid variant means you’ll receive some clever and efficient system in place for even great range. These include:

3 driving modes (Electric, Hybrid or Sport)
Regenerative braking (to help charge your battery when your foot comes off the accelerator
A 12.4 Kwh battery with no loss of passenger compartment space (with an 8-year/100,000 mile warranty up to 70%)
